About our Product and Capabilities
Commonlands offers high-performance cost-effective M12 lenses and related accessories. These are in use across the aerial robotics, mobile robotics, IoT, smart retail, factory automation, medical, and VR industries.
Our products are qualified, inspected, and stored in a class 10K (ISO 7) equivalent climate controlled environment. Our equipment includes: lens parameter measurement machine, resolution projection tester, spectrometer, automated lens + lens holder assembly machine, and high throughput MTF test machine. This allows us to provide 100% quality assurance across all project volumes, with optional unit-level traceability.
We try to restock out of stock samples within 2-3 weeks. Lead-times for volume (1kpcs-100kpcs) vary by SKU; please contact us for details. The prices online are not indicative of volume (1kpc+) pricing.
Our supply chain partnerships and our US optical/mechanical engineering expertise enable you to easily/accurately customize the F#, IP seal, filter, and/or mechanical design; NREs, MoQs, and lead-time may apply. Please contact us for more information.

Our Camera Module Partners
We work with many camera ODMs around the world, from China and India to Germany and the US. We can work with any preferred camera module partner and likely know their team already.

Commonlands is a US-based company located in San Diego, CA. The company was founded in 2018 as a camera engineering and optical design services company within Carnegie Mellon University's Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship. The company relocated to California in 2020 and has been growing rapidly.
The company's founder is an alumni of the University of Rochester's Institute of Optics, is part of the Zemax Consulting Partners Program, and worked for a top-3 automotive lens manufacturer.
Commonlands was founded to help electrical, mechanical, and SW engineers succeed with new projects. Our team is here to help teams navigate the multitude of technical and supply chain issues that come with camera engineering.
